My journey
What I've done and what I will do.
how did my journey begin?
Since I was a little girl, I have always loved being in charge and being around people. I knew from a young age that I would be someone really important someday, and I have worked toward being a role model, leader, and influencer ever since.
I have always liked the idea of being a CEO, especially due to my interest in business. But, it wasn't until my interview with Suzy Welch for the Jack and Grace Welch Endowed Scholarship that I realized that I have major goals to accomplish. Chatting with Suzy about my interest in business and acceptance to the Isenberg School of Management, she suddenly asked me, "do you want to be a CEO?". Surprised by her accuracy, I replied with, "I would love to be." She looks at me and says, "Then do it. We need more powerful women in the industry like you." Never have I ever felt more of a rush than in this moment. Before my departure at the end of my interview, I turn around and ensure, "Mrs. Welch, I WILL be a CEO." Ever since that promise, my life has found a solid direction.

how do I ACHIEVE MY GOALS?
EXPLORE THE WORLD AND ALL IT HAS TO OFFER
I am blessed to have had many opportunities to see new places. I love to hike, be outdoors, and just observe the world around me. Aside from my excursions in the US, I have traveled to South Africa and am studying abroad in Florence, Italy at the Lorenzo de Medici Institiute next semester. A good leader is aware of the differences in the world and has the hunger to explore those differences first-hand.
give back
I had the pleasure of devoting two weeks to volunteer in New Orleans, Louisiana to assist with disaster relief from Hurricane Katrina and in El Yunque National Rainforest in Puerto Rico to learn about environmental preservation and prepare the homestead for Hurricane Season. Because of these trips, I am more empathetic and grateful.
lead
Getting involved is one of the best ways to lead. My involvement in my community and school has given me opportunities to hold different leadership positions. I had the honor of serving as my high school Class President and as the Vice President of National Honors Society. In college, my involvement with the Marketing Club led me to two different executive board positions- Co-Chair of Community Service and Marketing Career Networking Night Registration Co-Chair. I now hold the title of Head of Recruitment and Outreach for the Minutemen Alternative Investment Fund, where I am one of the two first ever female members.
